D’ Shanghai is an all-day dining life-style Dim Sum Specialty Restaurant concept under Johor Bahru’s Kim Man Food Products Group, the largest frozen steamed bun & dim sum wholesaler in Southern Malaysia.

In 2012, In view of the strong tourist business and mature consumer market in Johor Bahru, the two steamed bun & dim sum veterans, founders of Kim Man Group, Mr. Ding Ee Lee and Mr. Yek Hock Ling decided to venture into a restaurant business specializing in Chinese northern & southern-style Dim Sum.

The casual dining dim sum concept differentiates itself by opening in shopping malls with cozy ambience and high targeted traffic.

It brands itself as ‘Dim Sum Flavours From North and South’, featuring delicious dim sum varieties from Hong Kong, Shanghai, Huaiyang and Sichuan. There are also innovative modern creations infusing Western ingredients with heritage cooking methods.

The refined D’ Shanghai dim sum has successfully appealed not only to tourists, families and PMEB markets. It also appeals to younger consumers who appreciate dim sum throughout the day, even for tea and dinner.

The success of D’ Shanghai was further endorsed when it was named one of the winners of the ‘World Top Gourmet Award 2018 – Malaysia’ organized by International Business Federation (IBF).

Currently, D’ Shanghai is operating 3 outlets in Johor Bahru at KSL City Mall, R&F Mall and Permas Jaya. It is seeking for opportunities and right partners to share its success to Kuala Lumpur and to other ASEAN cities.
